I create photographs of things that do not - and probably should not - exist. While my conceptual narratives rely on artifice and contrivance, my process results in photographs that feel authentic.
Using a clean, straight-ahead aesthetic to draw contrast against off-kilter concepts , I'm not afraid to employ a visual language that is ordinary to express concepts that are extraordinary, as long as it serves the idea.
With respect for the tradition, I assemble real objects on set and photograph everything at once, as much as possible. Even if the subject matter is entirely unreliable, the final image has a greater degree of believability - creating a moment of uncertainty into which the message can appear.
I am based in San Francisco and work with top brands and publications to bring a satirical twist to a craftsmans approach.
