In June, I attended NYC Fotoworks. At the moment, portfolio reviews seem to offer the second best way to get in front of buyers that might hire you. I signed up for NYC Fotoworks mostly for this reason, although I was at the tail end of revamping my book, so actual portfolio reviews were a [...]

Different Books for Different Folks
September 11th, 2012 · No Comments · Self Promotion, Uncategorized
I know, who cares about portfolios? I just tweet links to my Dropbox pdfs or whatever. Whatever! I’m still using my red portfolio, but I recently added a black leather book, because there are a few people who react badly to the red one, I thought I’d make something just for them. After asking around [...]

Helpful Ideas for Busy Dads: Toddler Edition
May 21st, 2012 · 3 Comments · Projects, Self Promotion
Following up on the success of the original Helpful Ideas for Busy Dads, I’ve created a batch of new, time-saving ideas for dads everywhere. When a regular bib is insufficient, try MaxiBib. The Peel-A-Wall system makes art project cleanup a snap. Rain or shine, the Park VR system keeps youngsters occupied, if not exercised. iPhone [...]

Portfolio Revamp
October 5th, 2010 · 3 Comments · Self Promotion
I finished this awhile back. Well, “finished” anyway. Heretofore, it’s been difficult to find enough pictures to put in my book. This time around, I’m doing double-sided pages and I’m still pushing the physical limit of the book, so here’s to making pictures. Naturally, it’s a real question as to whether a printed portfolio is [...]

I love my 1400
September 24th, 2010 · 1 Comment · Self Promotion, Uncategorized
Well, I was loving it a lot more before it started putting a black smudge on the trailing corner of the paper. But that’s the middle of the story. My first photo printer was an Epson 2200, the workhorse in it’s class at the time. I was pretty amazed when the first print came out [...]

The New Website
July 22nd, 2010 · No Comments · Self Promotion
So the new website is launched. I looked around at all the prepackaged photographer-type sites, and while I was impressed with many of them, I just couldn’t get them to do what I want. The main thing with most of them was a maximum image size that is too small.
